With every bit of news, each photo and every piece of video footage that unfolds from the earthquake in Haiti, most of us feel a stronger and stronger desire to help. Co-ops across the country are giving help in many ways, too.
One way that electric co-ops are helping is by donating to NRECA's International Foundation. Funds can be earmarked to go directly to Haitian relief.
The International Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to bringing power to the world. Volunteer line workers from across the country visit small villages all over the world to bring power. Several Walton EMC linemen have given their time to the organization. The foundation has worked to bring power to the people of Haiti since 1998.
You can help, too, by making a tax-deductible donation to the International Foundation here, or by donating to any Haitian relief charity with which you feel comfortable.
Haiti's tragedy was really heart breaking. Let's all take time to pray for the victims of devastating 7.0 earthquake in Haiti. May the love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with each and everyone of these people, And to help them survive and lift them up to rebuild their lives better than ever.
